Case Study

Sikh Temple

Following negotiations with the Trustees, R J Leighfield secured a design and build contract to provide the Swindon Sikh community with a new Gurudwara. All funding for the project was raised by the Sikh community so we worked very closely with the Trustees and our Architect to provide the most cost effective solutions to the clients needs, whilst trying to retain the architectural features that distinguish the building as a temple, rather than any other building.

The completed building which incorporates large kitchens, dining room, library and meeting rooms as well as the prayer hall itself has now become a well known landmark in Swindon.

Following the successful completion of the Gurudwara, the trustees negotiated a further contract with
R J Leighfield for the design and construction of a community centre which has now been completed within the Temple grounds.
