Contracts Manager / Surveyor

Due to our continued growth RJ Leighfield & Sons are seeking to recruit an experienced Contract Manager/Surveyor to manage projects ranging in value from £1M - £8M across Wiltshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire.

Reporting to our Construction Director you will play a central role leading the site delivery team in ensuring construction projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Responsibilities include –

  • Providing leadership and direction to the site construction team.

  • Programming.

  • Construction Phase Health and Safety planning.

  • Ensuring material and sub-contract orders are let expeditiously.

  • Ensuring works carried out in accordance with the plans and specification.

  • Monitoring quality at every stage of the construction process.

  • Preparing regular reports on program, progress and information required.

  • Approval of stage payments to subcontractors

  • Controlling additional costs.

Applicants will have a degree or similar technical qualification in quantity surveying or construction management and have a stable work history including experience of delivering small to medium size residential new build schemes.

Office Admin Assistant 


What we are looking for

You will have excellent communication and organisational skills with previous experience in a busy office environment. You will have strong attention to detail and work well under pressure whilst working to deadlines. You will be confident communicating both written and verbally. You will enjoy working as part of a team and are confident in using Microsoft Office suite.


The Role

You will be expected to carry out several tasks to support the surveying and estimating departments, below are some of the tasks you will be expected to carry out.


  • Print drawings and send to relevant departments

  • Update and maintain the drawing registers

  • Chase supplier and sub-contractor quotes

  • Fill out local purchase orders

  • Organise, update and maintain shared files

  • Type up site reports

  • Send out site information (drawings, induction forms, time sheets, health and safety documents)

  • Assist with the completion of manuals ready for handover

  • Send out tender documents to suppliers and sub-contractors
