November 2017 - A Busy End To The Year.
The end of the year looks to be a very busy one, we have the 34 Bed Care Home Facility at Fosters Lane, Reading nearing completion. Linden Avenue, Swindon progressing well with the timber frames erected. Bembridge Close, Swindon is also progressing well with the new road in ready for the timber frame erection which is currently now taking place. 24 Bungalows at Hawthorns, Swindon is progressing well with the anticipated completion early 2018.

Works have now been completed on the construction of the new Gospel Hall in Reading.
May 2017 - Scaffold Down At Fosters Lane Extra Care Facility In Reading.
Works are progressing well on the construction of the 34 bed extra care facility, which is now water-tight with render complete and scaffold down. Our client and local councillors recently toured the site and saw the solar panels that will power the communal areas of the building and help keep service charges low.
March 2017 - New Work Placement Student And Latest Time Lapse Video.
R J Leighfield are pleased to welcome James Pullen, a work placement student who will be assisting the electricians with the first fix electrical works at the development of a 34 bed extra care facility at Fosters Lane, Reading. February 2017 - Busy Start To 2017 For R J Leighfield & Sons.
Works have now completed on nine new flats for Bracknell Forest Homes and the timber frame works are progressing well on three new properies in Highworth. The roof structure at the extra care facility in Reading for Wokingham Housing nears completion and groundworks have started on the first of two new contracts for Swindon Borough Council, this contract is to build 24 assisted homes in Swindon.

Leighfield's have recently won two new contracts with Swindon Borough Council to build a total of 34 new assisted homes on two sites in Swindon.
December 2016 - Retirement After Over 47 Years Service.
R J Leighfield would like to thank operative Steve Leach for the 47 years of services he has given to Leighfields. Starting in August 1969, Steve has worked on numerous building and renovation projects for Leighfields with many work colleagues and under the direction of two Managing Directors - Maurice and Simon Leighfield. On his retirement the Directors presented Steve with a gift to thank him for his loyalty and hard work, and wish him a long and happy retirement.
December 2016 - South West In Bloom And Latest Time Lapse Video Of Fosters Lane.
The latest video of the building works at Fosters Lane in Reading can now be seen on our Fosters Lane page. And Coped Hall Business Park, built by R J Leighfield's and the site of our office, recently won the South West in Bloom's Wheatley Trophy for outstanding landscaped industrial site in the region. To accept the award, Leighfield's Managing Director Simon Leighfield was joined by Peter Cole of Loveday, the Mayor of Royal Wootton Bassett Cllr Mary Champion and Jem Winston of Westlea Landscaping.
November 2016 - Groundworks Start On Three New Dwellings In Highworth, Swindon.
Work has just started on the construction of three Lifetime Homes in Highworth for Swindon Borough Council and Leighfield's are delighted to welcome new Site Manager Charley Blakely, who will be managing this site.

Leighfield's are pleased to welcome Harry Smith, who has recently joined our team as a Contracts Manager / Surveyor.
Staff from Leighfield's were also pleased to be invited to a Careers Fair in Woodley, Berkshire. Over 400 students attended with R J Leighfield & Sons representing the various career opportunities in the construction industry. With two large projects in the Wokingham area, Leighfield's Contracts Director Mark Stratford said "...it was very important for us, with the support of the NFB, to put something back into the local community." An article about the Careers Fair was published in this month's NFB newsletter.

August 2016 - Works Progressing Well At The New Extra Care Facility In Reading.
Works are progressing well at the new 34 bed extra care facility for Wokingham Housing Ltd. The block and brick work has started and a time lapse camera has been set up to take pictures of the site every 10 minutes, the latest image can be found at Interval Films.
July 2016 - Works Progressing Well At The New Gospel Hall In Reading.
Works are progressing with the concreting of the AFS walls at the new Gospel Hall in Reading for the Plymouth Brethren.
June 2016 - Eights Flats At Chinnor Completed And Work Begins At Two New Sites.
R J Leighfield has recently completed eight flats for Soha at Leverkus Court in Chinnor and works have just begun at two new sites: a new gospel hall in Reading for the Plymouth Brethren and a 34 bed extra care facility for Wokingham Housing Ltd also in Reading.
And, after a complex start, works are also progressing well on the nine one bed apartments in Bracknell for Bracknell Forest Homes.
Also in June, Leighfield's Managing Director Simon Leighfield and Peter Cole of Loveday, the managing agent for Coped Hall Business Park, were honoured to receive Royal Wootton Bassett's Best Kept Business Park award for 2016. The award was presented by the Mayor of Royal Wootton Bassett, Cllr Mary Champion and Naomi Coleman from the Royal Wootton Bassett Town Council.

April 2016 - R J Leighfield Win £6 Million Contract For Extra Care Facility.
R J Leighfield & Sons Ltd have recently won a £6 million contract to build a 34 bed extra care facility in Reading for Wokingham Housing Ltd. The development will be a two-storey facility offering 34 affordable one-bedroom apartments for frail elderly and those suffering from dementia. Each apartment will have a private balcony or terrace and the communal facilities will include two lounge areas, a dining room, laundry room and accommodation for guests staying over. March 2016 - Timber Frame Works Begin At Melksham Site.
The timber frame erection has begun for the four flats at Berryfield Park in Melksham. The Berryfield site will also include four houses and is running alongside another site in Melksham where a further two houses are being constructed.
