Quantity Surveyor 

Due to our continued growth RJ Leighfield & Sons are seeking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to manage projects ranging in value from £1M - £8M across Wiltshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire.

Reporting to our Construction Director you will play a central role leading the site delivery team in ensuring construction projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Responsibilities include –

• Review of contract docs incl BQ, specifications, drawings, quotes and other documents

• Obtain purchase order for works from Client

• Agree schedule of valuation dates with client

• For new suppliers / subcontractors - obtain completed profile and attachments 

• Produce and maintain buying gains sheet

• Obtain competitive quotes from suppliers and contractors

• Place orders with Consultants / suppliers / subcontractors

• Visit site as required for measurement of work in progress including attend site meetings

• Preparing monthly valuations, submitting to client and ensuring certificate raised in a reasonable time

• Preparing monthly internal valuation and CVR after every Valuation

• Preparing subcontractor valuations and payments

• Prepare draft final account for agreement with Clients QS

• Make application for retention release, at PC and at completion of defects

• Agree all subcontractor Final accounts including obtaining signed statements of final account

Applicants will have a degree or similar technical qualification in quantity surveying or construction management and have a stable work history including experience of delivering small to medium size residential new build schemes.
